Chairman’s Newsletter – December 2023

Dear all,

A Big Thank You
I wanted to start this newsletter and to end the year with a big thank you to all of the staff and volunteers that helped the club grow through this ‘very wet’ 2023. It’s certainly been a challenging year at times, especially with the amount of rain we have had, but the team has once again delivered above and beyond expectations in all of the areas across the club. Well done and thanks again to all those involved.

2023 Review
Another year has flown by and once again we have seen a few changes across the club. We have continued to invest in various areas of the club, including new machinery to be used on the course, new staff in the office, a new coaching professional, new shop and bar staff and a new catering team.
There has also been changes to the board of directors and I know I speak on behalf of all of the board when I say we remain committed to delivering the best golf club possible, whilst managing all aspects of the club diligently and with the best interests of all the members at the forefront of everything we do.

BRS
You will all be aware that the club will introduce a new BRS system from 10 Jan 24. This will introduce a more efficient system for all members and remove a significant amount of admin time for the day team. It will also save the club money, as we will run everything through one system, rather than the different systems we have currently in place. I would encourage all members to read the recently issued notice and speak with members of the board, should you require any assistance. A set of FAQ’s and other details will be available on the website. As with all new systems, there will be a settling period and I would ask that we all embrace the new system and support it as it is introduced across the club.

Captains *
Firstly, a well done to Albert and Sue for all their hard work throughout 2023. They were both excellent ambassadors for the club at various events both home and away. Secondly, I know you all will join me in wishing Anne and Lee all the very best in 2024. I know they are both looking forward to next year and will represent the club with pride, determination and a sense of humour……..

And Finally…..*
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of the members a very merry Xmas and a happy New Year. Your support to the club is hugely appreciated and important to keep the club moving in the right direction. Please continue to support the club in any way you can next year and as always, we are always looking out for new volunteers, so please volunteer some spare time where you can, especially for the monthly opens that are a valuable source of income for the club.

I look forward to seeing you all on the golf course and in the clubhouse in 2024.
