Richmond Golf Club has a lively, inclusive women’s section and always welcomes new women whether they want to give golf a try for the first time or have any level of previous experience.

To give Golf a try…

• If you have no experience, why not come along to one of our our free Taster Days where some of our previous “Academy Graduates” will be happy to share their experience. Alternatively at any time, contact our Women in Golf Champions Babs Gregory and Janet Probert via the club office for more information on trying golf for the first time or returning to the game.

• If you are keen to get involved with golf, we would suggest some lessons with our professional James Cousins (07980 897621). He runs short courses to ‘give golf a try’ or get back into golf.  Contact him directly for individual or small group lessons.

When you have had a few lessons and feel ready to have a go on our beautiful course, you can join our Golf Academy. This is an opportunity to get some experience on the course with our women members, meet our very sociable group for coffee afterwards and join in our fun team competitions which we run four times a year.  

• The Academy membership is £150 from when you join until our Christmas Jumper fun competition in December 2026.  

• It is an introduction to golf, you will be supported by a member “mentor”, who will introduce you to other members, play some holes with you, help you learn the rules and etiquette, and assist you to find other playing partners.

Please note that the Academy membership does not enable you to play in the club competitions or women section competitions, invite guests, or work towards your handicap.  These are things you can progress to as a flexi or full member in due course.
