May 27th

The team played at Redcar on Wednesday evening and were beaten 18 points to 6 points. Despite the glorious sunshine and a very firm and fast course, I feel the wind played a major part in the result. My thanks, as usual, to all the team members for the commitment shown each week.
The next match is a HOME fixture against Wilton Golf Club on Wednesday 4th July 2018. As I am away for the weekend, for a period of quiet reflection and contemplation, could team members show their availability for next Wednesday please.

May 2nd

Thanks to all the players last night who turned out against Blackwell Grange. With a makeshift scratch section, not too bad a result, we lost 17-7, but lets call it 7 valuable points gained.
The Captain, Nigel and his wife Alison, were on hand to lend support, much appreciated.

May 9th

The match against Cleveland G.C. last night ended in a fighting 12-12 draw and considering the strength of the opposition, it is not too bad a result. At least 3 matches were decided on the 18th hole which could have been so much better for the Richmond team. Thanks to all the players who took part and to the catering staff who made certain we were all fed and watered with excellent food and drink. A special mention goes to Alfie and family for their support last night.

May 16th

I think I can quite confidently say that the majority of the team had "a bad day at the office" last night at Wilton Golf Club. Whilst I could only muster 11 players for the match, I am grateful to the players that were able to play. Richmond lost the match heavily, 21-3 which I think is probably the worst result I can remember having. The greens at Wilton were extremely quick and it would be easy to make that an excuse. A quick shout out to Ryan Campbell who won his match and Guy Pini for coming back from the brink to bring home a point.

May 30th

Thank you to all the players who turned out last night in the match against INEOS G.C. which we won 18 points to 6. The weather was not what you would expect for this time of the year but everyone got their rounds played in a timely manner. The course played very well and the catering was, as usual, very good. Thanks to the Vice Captain, Martin Dolan (who assisted me with team management) and the Captain, Nigel Stanwix for their support on the night. Onwards and upwards

June 6th

The Richmond team members who played last night in the away match against a very strong Hartlepool, achieved a creditable 8 points against 16 for Hartlepool.
So, thanks again to the players that had the long drive there and even longer ( road closures) drive home and played well on a lovely golf course and on a lovely evening. Well done guys.

June 13th

Yet another tough night at the office! Richmond played Darlington last night which resulted in a loss for Richmond 9 points against 15 points. Whilst Darlington are a strong side, we have to start taking advantage of our home matches. Thanks to all players who turned out for the team and the Captain and Vice Captain for their support. Lets make the remaining matches count!

June 20th

Thanks to all the players from the match on Wednesday against Blackwell Grange where Richmond obtained a draw, 12 points each. Quite a few of the matches could have had different outcomes with just a little bit of help from the Golfing Gods, but alas, that didn't happen. Thanks to Vice Captain, Martin for taking the lead with the starting etc, a little bit of pressure relieved, so cheers Martin. Also for Captain Nigel for his support.

So, its Cleveland G.C. (Redcar) next Wednesday 27th June 2018. Our Number 1, Ryan isn't available as he will be playing in the Yorkshire team champs at Garforth, so the team might have to dig deep. Availabilities to let me know if you can play or not please.
Thanks, John Simpson.
